The work of Naulikhola bridge is barely 40 percent

The construction work of Naulikhola Motorable Bridge at Dharche Rural Municipality-7 Lapubensi under the Benighat-Arughat-Larke road section is almost 40 percent complete. A contract was signed in July 2079 to be completed within two years.

Mohan Shrestha, Engineer of Infrastructure Office Gorkha, said that since the bridge was not constructed within the stipulated time, the contract period was extended by one year till July 2082. "During the rainy season, Naulikhola has become a situation where it is not possible to work, there is a compulsion to work only in winter, and there is no alternative way for vehicles to move, even this has caused delays," he said.

He said that work is going on to complete the construction of the bridge by next June. Suryodaya Construction Pvt Ltd has been entrusted with the construction of the bridge in a contract worth Rs 4 crore 35 lakh. He said that a 35-meter-long prestress bridge is being constructed on the road connecting North Gorkha.

'A 35 meter long and 8.40 cm wide bridge is being built,' he said, 'The work of raising pillars on both sides has been completed, now we are preparing to place slabs.' are Man Bahadur Gurung of Dharche-7 Lapubensi said that Naulikhola rises during drought and vehicles cannot cross. "Vehicles could not pass through Barkha, people from Machachhola and Chumanubri walked up and down," he said. Three motorable bridges are being constructed on the Soti, Arkhet and Chhepare rivers under the Larke road section. "There is also a steep slope in the place," said Engineer Shrestha, "Now that the Naulikhola bridge is built, it will be very easy to drive up to Machakhola." Shrestha says that the construction has been completed. With the opening of the track on Larke road, jeeps, tractors, trucks and other vehicles have started plying up to Chumanuvri rural municipality-3 Pangsing in winter. With the movement of vehicles in the northern region, the transportation of pedestrians and consumer goods has also become easier. Earlier, transportation was being done from Machakhola through Khachhad. Locals say that with the movement of vehicles, some of the consumables have become cheaper.
