Nepal Telecom, a government-owned telecommunication service provider, has asked people to be aware of the spread of false information on social media about giving gifts on the occasion of Christmas and English New Year. The company has requested the customers to believe only the notifications coming from their official social media accounts with Bluetooth ticks.
Nepal Telecom has said that misleading information is being spread through social media by misusing the company's logo saying that it will give cash and gifts up to 5000 rupees. The official logo of the company has been misused and it has been requested to be aware that such wrong information is being circulated through Facebook groups, messengers and other social networks.
'It has been found that false information is being circulated through social media using the official logo of Nepal Telecom, saying that they have arranged cash and gifts of up to 5,000 on the occasion of the upcoming Christmas and English New Year,' the company said in a statement, 'We sincerely request everyone to be aware of this  ;.' company has requested to believe only the information available on its official Facebook page, X and other social networks, which is bluetic. Also, the official website of the company only base Maner has requested its customers to be updated about the services of Nepal Telecom.
