Twin-Otter aircraft of Tara Air has started Nepalgunj-Tikapur-Nepalgunj flight from today (Sunday). According to Nepalgunj Airport Chief Summat Prasad Choudhary, Tara's twin-air plane reached Tikapur with 11 passengers and 3 airline employees from Nepalgunj at 1:27 p.m.
16 passengers and three employees were brought to Nepalgunj from Tikapur.
According to Nepalgunj Airport, the TwinOtter took 18 minutes on the way and 20 minutes on the way back. The crew had flown at an altitude of 6500 feet on the way and 5500 feet on the way back according to the IFR rules.
Civil Aviation Authority has allowed Tara Air to fly from Nepalgunj to Tikapur on Sunday and Thursday. In the first phase, Tara has been given permission to fly from November 30 to January 16. On October 12, a Twin-Otter aircraft of Nepal Airlines Corporation conducted a test flight at Tikapur, which has been closed for 27 years.
Tara Air also had a charter flight on the same day. Nepalgunj-Tikapur one-way fare is 3 thousand 600 rupees. As the runway of Tikapur airport is unpaved, the authority has allowed flights only in winter.
