52 million rupees have been brought in to Khotang from the sale of cardamom this year alone. 52.66 million rupees have been brought into the district from the export of cardamom produced at various local levels.

According to Prem Kumar Rai, District President of Cardamom Traders Federation, cardamom has been bought and sold from farmers at an average rate of 86-87 thousand rupees. 2150,000 has been received from the sale of cardamom in Kepilasgarhi rural municipality.

Similarly, 11 million 31 million in Khotehang Rural Municipality, 60 million 90 million in Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality, 40 million 31 million in Aiselukhark Rural Municipality, 40 million 30 million in Sakela Rural Municipality, 20 million 9 million in Jantedhunga Rural Municipality and 20 million in Diprung Chuichumma Rural Municipality. Rai said that Rs. 66 million have been received. 

This year, compared to the previous year, the production of cardamom has decreased by about 40 percent, but the farmers are relieved to get the price, says Rai. "This year, cardamom production decreased by 40 percent compared to last year, but the price increased," Rai said. "Last year, cardamom was bought and sold from farmers for Rs. Even though the price has decreased, farmers are relieved.
