Parliamentarians have requested to start reforms immediately as the situation in customs is increasing. In the meeting of the Finance Committee on Wednesday, the parliamentarians said that due to the lack of improvement in the customs point, the revenue has decreased and requested to start the reform initiative immediately.
MP Padam Giri questioned why the X-ray machine at the customs point was not repaired even though it was broken. MP Upendra Yadav also claimed that revenue leakage has increased.
He said that common people will suffer in the name of customs tightening, but big businesses will always have peace. Finance Secretary Ram Prasad Ghimire claimed that revenue collection is improving.
