One thousand kiloliters of kerosene arrived on Wednesday
After the successful testing of petrol, trial kerosene has also been imported from the Raxaul-Amlekhganj petroleum pipeline. Earlier, 5,500 kiloliters of petrol was brought from the pipeline where only diesel was imported on October 17.
The petrol was brought for testing. Pralayankar Acharya, head of the Amlekhganj regional office of Nepal Oil Corporation, said that 1000 kiloliters of kerosene was also brought on Wednesday. "In the first lot, one thousand kiloliters of kerosene has been imported and successfully tested," said Chief Acharya.
pipeline was officially inaugurated on August 24, 2076.
Under the second phase, the goal is to import petrol and kerosene from the pipeline. The corporation is preparing to continuously import petrol and kerosene through the pipeline from January. Chief Acharya said that kerosene was also imported on Wednesday as a preparation for that.
The Amlekhganj fuel depot, which has been in operation since 3 and a half decades ago, is now operating in manual mode. With the arrival of petrol from the pipeline, the infrastructure has been built to fully automate the depot. In order to import petrol and kerosene from the pipeline, the corporation is going to go into depot automation with the construction of infrastructure including 4 more tanks, loading bays, state-of-the-art laboratories. 24 'loading bays' have been constructed for complete automation in
loading. There are 36 filling points in 24 loading bays. Out of which 7 bottom loading and 8 tom loading of petrol can be done. 4 bottom and 14 top loading of diesel can be done. Similarly, it is said that there is 1 bottom loading of kerosene. According to the corporation, technical losses will be zero from the
pipeline, transportation costs will be saved and environmental pollution will also be reduced. There will be saving of transportation freight and time, pollution control, quantity and quality assurance.
