Gorakh Rana has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Standard Chartered Bank Nepal. After 37 years of establishment of this foreign joint investment bank, Rana of Nepali origin became the CEO for the first time.
The meeting of the board of directors of the bank held on Monday decided to appoint Rana as the CEO. Rana will take charge from January 1, 2025.
Rana, who is currently the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, has been working in Standard Chartered Bank for 30 years. Rana has been appointed to the post after the tenure of Chief Executive Officer Anirvan Ghosh Dastidar .
Rana is the husband of Shruti Shah, daughter of late King Birendra Shah and Queen Aishwarya .
