Ambukhaireni rural municipality has opened a bank account for students with the aim of developing the habit of saving in children and facilitating their studies. Bank accounts of students studying in community and institutional schools under the municipality have been included in the annual policy and program of the municipality.

Shukar Chuman, chairman of the rural municipality, said that bank accounts have been opened in the name of students by operating 'Student Savings Account' as part of the educational reform program. According to Chuman, the aim of the

program is to develop the habit of saving from a young age, access to higher education according to interest and ability, and provide support for building a golden future through entrepreneurial development. 

rural municipality started the program on November 6 from Ramshah Secondary School located in Ambukhaireni-3. According to the rural municipality, the accounts of about 300 students have been opened so far.

"When we started the program, we proceeded to open bank accounts only for female students studying in public schools within the village," he said, "now we are going to open bank accounts for female and male students studying in community and institutional schools." 

Chuman says that he will open a free student savings account with a savings balance of Rs. But community students and institutional school students have to pay 1000 rupees themselves. We open a student savings account for students from class 1 to 10. It also develops the feeling that they should save from a young age,''. 

Bishnuprasad Sharma, the chief administrative officer of the rural municipality, said that after passing the 12th standard, the saving will help to achieve higher education, and the study-earning program will also be linked with this, and the bank and the rural municipality will provide some training to the students. 

Sharma says that this program, which started from Ramshah High School, will be conducted in public schools of all wards. About 7 thousand students are studying in the rural municipality. Student account will be opened in coordination with Kumari Bank. He said that the bank will provide health insurance facility worth 20,000 rupees.

There are 32 schools including 24 community and 8 institutional schools in 6 wards of Ambukhaireni rural municipality. About 7 thousand 167 students are studying in those schools. 

Rural municipality is going to open free bank accounts for 2,500 female students studying in public schools. For this, the rural municipality has allocated a budget of 25 lakh rupees.

Earlier, the rural municipality has already decided that the children of public representatives, employees and teachers should be educated in government schools. The municipality has also introduced a policy of giving tax exemption to families who teach in public schools.
