India has pushed back two more months to make BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) mandatory for imported sanitary pads and baby diapers. With India pushing back by two months, Nepali industrialists can export sanitary pads and baby diapers to India without taking BIS for the next two months.

India issued a notification a year ago that BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards)  It was mandatory. After the said policy of India, the industrialists of Nepal also registered their application in BIS.

The inspection team from BIS would come to monitor the industry and conduct a 'factory audit'. But after receiving the application, the Indian team did not come for the visit even though the date was set for the factory visit and the industrialists paid the visit fee. With the implementation of BIS, the export of pads and baby diapers was stopped from October 1.

Punit Sharda, CEO of Jasmine Hygiene Products, has extended the time to take BIS till January 1. 'Two months have been extended to get BIS,' Sharda said, 'if we don't get BIS in the next two months, the export of pads and baby diapers will be stopped.' Only the quality of India can be described. Therefore, until BIS is received, it is seen that the process of opening and closing exports will continue.
