Indian brand ITC Welcome Hotel Group has entered as a manager in a new state-of-the-art five-star hotel that is going to be rebuilt in place of Hotel Annapurna on Durbarmarg, which was closed after the Covid-19 outbreak after 57 years of operation.
Hotel Annapurna Square Pvt Ltd signed a seven-year management agreement with ITC Welcome Hotel Group in Kathmandu on Thursday. After covid, we said goodbye to all employees. It was an epidemic. But we have taken a tough decision to redevelop an established brand that has been in operation for almost 6 decades,' said Srijana Rana, Executive Director of Hotel Annapurna, 'We are transforming Annapurna, which has been established as a leader in Nepal's hospitality industry, into a new generation.' The executive director Rana said that after the opening of the five-star hotel, which will be built with the largest conference hall (meeting center) in Nepal with an area of 3000 guests, 318 rooms and 30 service apartments, it will be named Hotel Annapurna Welcome. He says that its cost is about 1 billion rupees.
Little Angels and Bhatbhateni Group are also involved in the redevelopment of the new hotel. Its main investors are Umesh Shrestha of Little Angels, Meen Bahadur Gurung, Chairman of Bhatbheteni Group and Rana, Executive Director of Annapurna Hotel.
