On Monday afternoon, a woman sitting behind a scooter died after being hit by an oil tanker at Ratnanagar Nipani Chowk in the eastern part of Chitwan. According to details received from the Chitwan District Police Office, a scooter bearing Bagmati Province 02-016 Pa 9689 was hit by a mixer vehicle bearing Province 1-02-001 Ka 4533 at around 5:15 pm in Chumlingtar. Ambakumari Shrestha of Dhading Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-8, who was sitting behind the scooter, died, said DSP Rabindra Khanal, spokesperson of the Chitwan District Police Office. DSP Khanal said that she died during treatment at the Chitwan Medical College Teaching Hospital in Bharatpur. Scooter driver Tapalal Shrestha suffered injuries to his legs and body in the accident. His condition is moderate. The driver of the PM mixture vehicle is absconding after the accident. DSP Khanal informed that locals blocked the road around 7 pm.
