184 of the 440 prisoners who escaped by breaking the wall of the regional jail at Bhimphedi, taking advantage of the Gen-G movement, are still absconding.

The prisoners escaped from here at 12:30 on the night of August 24. Among those who escaped from prison, 39 were foreigners. 12 of them have been arrested and 27 are absconding.

Jailer Subas Poudel of the prison said that the prison administration called the escapees and gave them time till October 20th to return. He said that 113 people returned during this period. Makwanpur District Police Office said that the search for the escaped prisoners is continuing. According to the prison administration, most of the escaped prisoners are drug related. Others are cases of coercion, dutiful killing, etc.

Currently there are 946 prisoners in Bhimfedi prison. There were 1,666 prisoners here before the prison break and escape.
