The Hong Kong conference of the Association of Nepali Origin (ANO) has concluded, drawing the attention of the Nepali government to the security of Nepalis working in the Middle East. The conference has announced the Hong Kong Committee under the chairmanship of young entrepreneur Vicky Thapa. District Councilor of the Hong Kong government Aruna Gurung and General Secretary of the ANO International Committee Chudamani Bhattarai chaired the conference on Saturday evening. The conference has passed a resolution to use the power of Nepalis in the interest of Nepal by recognizing their Nepali origin, regardless of where they were born in the world and the citizenship they hold.

The conference, chaired by ANO central member Khushi Gurung, has passed a special resolution to take appropriate steps by the Nepali government to pay special attention to the security of Nepalis living in the Middle East in the context of the security challenges that have emerged in the world recently. Bhattarai, General Secretary of the ANO International Committee, said that ANO has moved forward as a campaign to connect Nepalis, regardless of their birth or upbringing in any country and regardless of their generation.

ANO was established in 2024 under the leadership of US-based social worker Dilli Adhikari. The organization's Hong Kong convention has announced that it will continue to work on the campaign for the continuation of Nepali language, art, culture, customs and Nepali identity and its expansion and transmission. The newly elected Hong Kong working committee includes Ajay Rai as vice-president, Suku Limbu as general secretary, Anuj Rokka as secretary, Sophia Gurung as treasurer and Suresh Yakso as spokesperson. The members selected are Sarla Tamang, Topraj Tamang, Rista Gurung, Mejila Gurung, Bhim Gurung, Junu Rana, Binny Lama Rai and Karan Tamang.
