Children of Karnali region have discussed the unequal effects of climate change on children at the Himalayan dialogue held in Jumla.

Children expressed their experiences and concerns about the impact of climate change on children's education, safety, health and other aspects of life at this event, which was organized as a preparation for the upcoming Everest Dialogue. The

event was organized by Save the Children, Karnali Integrated Rural Development and Research Center, and Youth Alliance for Environment in collaboration with the Government of Nepal and the Everest Dialogue Secretariat. 62 children and members of various marginalized communities participated in the program.

Tara Chhetri, National Director of Save the Children, speaking at the event said, 'Children's voices and experiences are often ignored, but these voices are not only stories, but also solutions.'

Asmita, president of the children's club network of Karnali province, said that climate change is the current emergency situation and said, 'We have to pay the highest price.' In the

program, children discussed the effects of climate change and the resulting growing food insecurity, health crises, and school dropouts. Faced with the disproportionate impact and challenges of climate change in the Karnali region, the participating children urged that the needs of marginalized communities should be prioritized in policies and plans related to climate change.
