On the occasion of 5 decades of cooperation between the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of Nepal in the development of Nepal's energy sector, a week-long photo exhibition has started at the Nepal Art Council, Babarmahal.
Purna Bahadur Tamang, Minister of State for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Energy Secretary Suresh Acharya, Kulman Ghising, Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, Arnaud Koswa, Director of ADB Nepal, Christine Hague Storholt, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Norwegian Embassy jointly inaugurated the exhibition. Photojournalist Club, Nepal will be held from November 18 to 24. In the photo exhibition, the development in Nepal's energy sector has been visually presented in collaboration between the Government of Nepal and ADB for 50 years, according to the organizer. Speaking at the opening event, Minister of State for Energy Tamang thanked ADB for supporting the development of Nepal's energy sector. "A lot of positive work has been done recently." I would like to thank ADB for its support in the development of Nepal's energy sector,' said State Minister Tamang.
Similarly, Director of ADB Nepal, Koswa, said that in cooperation with the Nepalese government, they will continue to support energy production, transmission and distribution lines and strengthening in Nepal . Similarly, he said that Nepal, which has low electrification, has now become an energy exporting country.
Similarly, Ghising, the executive director of the authority, said that with the help of ADB, large hydropower projects with reservoirs are being built in Nepal. He thanked ADB for its support in Nepal's energy sector and said that he is hopeful that the support will continue in the future. The photo exhibition is divided into 4 parts namely Production, Broadcasting, Distribution and 'Beyond the Meter'.
