Nowadays, the topic of climate change and the protection of Mount Everest is raised with priority. The issue of Everest conservation has also been raised in international forums. Focusing on the issue of protecting the environment and Mount Everest, King Birendra gave an interview to the French international media outlet 'Poan the View' magazine exactly 31 years ago.

During the interview, Raja Birendra said that environmental problems have come as a challenge in Nepal. In order to solve this problem, Raja Birendra had said at that time that effective education should be given at the public level, including management and financial aspects, "Some arrangements have been started regarding the environmental protection of the Himalayas." When asked by

magazine whether he has thought of anything to prevent the terrible pollution caused by mountaineers on Mount Everest, which is the highest peak in the world, Birendra said, "In addition to limiting the number of mountaineer groups, a cleaning campaign has also been started." But its mountaineers and tourists should also be supported.' At that time, the King gave an interview to the international media about environmental issues when there were concerns that garbage was piling up on Mount Everest.

He said that the role of governmental and non-governmental organizations is important in making the environment. Raja informed through the interview that he has special interest in conservation of natural and cultural heritage, horseback riding, helicopter flying and painting. Birendra gave the interview in connection with his state visit to the Republic of France from October 4 to 10, 2051.  During the

interview, Rani Aishwarya, Crown Prince, Crown Prince and members of the royal family were determined by the constitution and the law and said that the constitution also determined the method of appointing the prime minister. After the change of 2046, the role of members of the monarchy could be guessed from the interview questions that the magazine tried to understand from the king himself. 

When various questions were asked about the mid-term elections to be held on November 27, 2051 and the multi-party system of governance, King Birendra replied that all matters are determined by the constitution and laws. During the interview, he said that the mid-term elections will further strengthen the multi-party democratic system.

He said that in the constitution made in 2047, there is a provision that executive, judiciary and legislature can work independently. Expressing the intention that it is not uncomfortable to work because some issues are clearly written in the constitution, the king said, "I want to see my country and people contribute to the peace and prosperity of the world while maintaining sovereignty, national integrity, national identity and unity." He said, "Nepalese can learn characteristics such as determination, entrepreneurship, and commitment to achieve excellence in the preservation of art and culture from France."

He held the opinion that France is a symbolic country that contributes significantly to the development of human civilization and adopts an independent foreign policy. Appreciating France's industrial success, he visited France's famous wine producing region of Burgundy. He said that he was very impressed to see Burgundy's blend of natural beauty and architecture to reflect its glorious history .
