The Gen-G movement has given a message that the country is not as expected by the common Nepalese as a result of the youth not leading the party and the government. There is a common understanding that not allowing the young generation to come to the leadership in the party and the result of people of the same age group taking over the government and the party since the 30th year has led to the current situation.

Especially in the Nepali Congress, which has led the movement and power many times, the youth are not getting the opportunity or even if they are getting the opportunity, they are not able to lead the leadership on the right path - that is also the current demand to be analyzed .

Did the youth get the opportunity or not? Has it been used or not? An example of its background can be taken from the mid-term elections held in October 2051. Because, at that time, all the presidents who came from student politics had the opportunity to be candidates in the House of Representatives elections. Constantly represented in the central committee of the party. Now even when he is getting old, he is occupying the position . 

From the founding president of Nepal Vidyarthi Sangh, the fraternal organization of the Congress, to the change of 2046, the leadership is now playing the role of the central level of the party. 

In June 2051, the internal dissension of the Congress led to a temporary government of the majority. After the then Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala dissolved the House of Representatives and announced the mid-term elections, the government also became impromptu. There are 205 constituencies and the Congress has nominated all the seats.

There were many old leaders in the old and traditional party, but at that time the young people who came from the movement got the opportunity to become candidates . Party Chairman Krishna Prasad Bhattarai, General Minister Mahendra Narayan Nidhi, Nepal Mahila Sangh President Mangaladevi Singh were not candidates. Out of 2048 candidates, 22 did not get tickets . In the mid-term, 81 new faces got an opportunity, and all those who entered the politics of the New Union got an opportunity to run. Many of them were under the age of 40 . Some of them were young people . 

From Bipin Koirala, who became the president when the union was established in 2027, to 2051, all those who became the president became candidates . Founding president Koirala and subsequent presidents Vimalendra Nidhi, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Bal Bahadur KC, Balkrishna Khan, NP Saud all got the opportunity to be candidates. Students and youths who came from politics were Homraj Dahal, Hridayram Thani, Pushkar Ojha, Deepak Giri and others. It also seems that the Congress has given an opportunity to all the youth exactly 31 years before today .

Even though Congress youths have been given opportunities time and time again, complaints are being heard that proper leadership has not been established in the party because they have prioritized the country's resources and power acquisition rather than advancing the party according to the demands of the times and the sentiments of the young generation . When the Gen-G movement raised the issue of generational change and a kind of change was raised in the country, at this time the issue of the role of the young generation in the Congress has also been raised. 

Congress fielded a completely new face in 10 districts in the parliamentary elections 31 years ago . Tickets were given to new faces in Myagdi, Sankhuwasabha, Bhojpur, Dhankuta, Manang, Mustang, Udaipur, Jumla, Rasuwa, Dolpa etc. Out of 11 female candidates, 5 were new faces . All but two of the MPs from the Chattisei group who disagreed with Prime Minister Koirala's working style got tickets. Manohar Narayan Shrestha and Sushilman Sherchan of Shaheed family also got the opportunity to become candidates. They were very young. 

The opportunity given to the young generation was appreciable even during the crisis when Ganeshman Singh, the supreme leader of the party, left the party and there was factionalism throughout the district. However, it can be assumed that the Congress has come to its current state because the leadership could not be selected from the young generation who entered the mainstream of the party at that time or because the leadership could not be put enough pressure.

The youth got the opportunity but they could not lead themselves or lead the leadership on the right path in an effective way. Rather, the new generation has been 'voting' Deuba, who became the Home Minister in 2048, for 31 years after 2051 and has kept his MP and ministerial positions as a result, the developments have shown that there has been no change in the leadership of the Congress . The youth of 31 years ago are now old . But the consequences of not understanding the era are also suffering.
