The closed session of the first general convention of the National Independent Party (NISP) is going to be delayed by a day. Although the schedule for the closed session to begin at 8:00 am on Monday was made public, it has been postponed to Tuesday. The number of delegates to the general convention has not yet been finalized. On the other hand, leaders have already started campaigning by announcing their candidacies for the posts of office bearers and central members. Why was there a delay in finalizing the delegates? And, a conversation between NASP Joint General Secretary Bipin Acharya and Kantipur's Jaisingh Mahara : The NASP, which is holding its first general convention, had said that the closed session would begin at 8:30 am on Monday, but it could not happen and was postponed. Why did this happen?

We had to finalize the names of all the delegates to the general convention before we could begin the closed session. The names of the representatives have to be finalized and the identity cards have to be distributed. Most of them have been distributed. There was a slight delay in the printing process. The distribution of those that have already been printed will start and the remaining cards will be printed tonight and distributed from 7 am on Tuesday. It is already clear that the general convention will be extended by a day. Generally, looking at today's situation, the schedule was that the closed session should have ended and the process of electing the Central Committee should have begun. The delay in this has increased the time. Now we are working in a way that will not exceed one day .

Are efforts being made to reach an agreement between the chairman and senior leaders regarding the selection of leadership from the general convention ?

It is not the time to enter into that matter now . The initial phase is to conclude the closed session . After passing the political report presented by the party chairman to the statute amendment report presented by me, the central committee election process will begin . After that, the process of selecting leadership will finally begin . I cannot rule out that there will be discussions between two leaders or others . 

The announcement of candidacies for central members and office bearers has already begun, but are you in the stage of completing the work of the representatives?

First of all, the party's code of conduct clearly states that the candidacy cannot be announced before the representatives are decided . It should not be announced publicly . Since the Central Committee election process will begin after the Election Commission opens nominations, it would be normal to talk about candidacy in discussions between individuals before that, but it would be pointless to announce candidacy before the process has begun.

Have candidates already started making cards and asking for votes?

The Election Commission is probably looking into the distribution of candidate campaign cards in general. The Election Commission will definitely do something about those matters as per its own procedures.
