What is the reason for you leaving the name of the NCP and forming the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist)?
It is a policy to continue the essence, spirit and legacy of the people's war waged by the Maoists of yesterday for 10 years. Comrade Pushpa Kamal Dahal left Maoism and became UML by saying Marxism and Leninism. The parliamentary comrades have already left the path of the Communist Party and gone a long way.
The Revolutionary Communist Party of Nepal led by Comrade Mohan Baidya also seems to be moving away from Maoism to some extent. In such a situation, when the Maoist sentiment and ideas among the people seemed to be disappearing, we formed the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) based on the historical sentiments of the People's War.
Now does this mean that we are the real Maoists?
Looking at the practice, principles, ideas and behavior so far, it is true that we are the Maoist People's War, Maoist ideas, and Maoist spirit. Because we have not been mixed up in the parliamentary system until today. The objective carried by the People's War yesterday—the commitment to fulfill the aspirations of the people, martyrs, missing, and injured warriors—is our party's. Therefore, we believe that we are the successors of the real Maoists of yesterday.
What is the difference between the Maoists of 2052 BS and the Maoists of today?
The Maoists of that time had moved forward with the objective of overthrowing the autocratic monarchy and the exploitative rule over the people and establishing a democratic system through the People's War. The first part of it was successful—the monarchy fell. But, the second objective—the end of the parliamentary system and a new democratic system—the Maoists failed on that front.
Now what is the main objective of the new CPN (Maoist)?
The monarchy is gone. But now there is broker capitalism in Nepal. It must be changed and socialism with Nepali characteristics must be established. Nepal must be made independent by stopping foreign interference. The people have not yet become empowered. We must empower the people. We must develop a model that makes the country self-reliant. This is the current Maoist line of action.
How do you advance socialism with Nepali characteristics through elections?
We have not said that elections are the only last option. Elections are a front of struggle. Our line of action is a unified people's revolution. The achievements that can be given to the people must also be given through elections. If that is not possible, the people's desires and aspirations should be fulfilled through the path of movement and struggle.
Is the election symbol of the CPN (Maoist) the rose a symbol of love or the color of revolution?
The rose is a symbol of love. We love the people. We build relationships with sincerity - like the pure heartfelt love between two young men and women. The rose is a symbol of love. We go to the elections with this love and sincerity, united with the people. 
It is not possible to say exactly now, but I believe that the people love us. We were among the people even after the 10-year people's war, the subsequent 10-year peace process, and even the two-year ban. We reestablished the party. The Genji movement also confirmed that we are the real, people-oriented, successor party among the crowd of other parties mired in corruption. When their offices were burned down and the leaders had to stay under the protection of the army, we were like the people. We were with the people in agriculture, animal husbandry, and production, working hand in hand with the people. That is why now the center of people's hope and trust has become the Maoists led by Netra Bikram Chand.
Why couldn't unity be achieved with the Maoists, which recently changed their name?
All communists should be united - this was what we had proposed. But it was also clear that the movement and party building of the future is not possible from the old generation, which is proven in corruption. The old generation did not agree to give up their respective positions. On the contrary, it was said that they had united by forming one person, one party, reaching 12-12 parties. We had said that the old leaders should sit in respected places, but the leadership should be given to the new generation. This is what the people also want.
After Dahal left Maoism, changed his name, abandoned his principles and joined the UML, joining that unity would have ended Maoism. If we had gone there, the communist movement in Nepal would have ended. That is why we did not join that unity. Instead, we have moved forward to save the Maoists in a new way.
