Film director Dinesh Raut's latest film 'Mahabhoj' is nearing release. Raut has directed 8 films including 'Classic', IM Sari, Prasad, Prakash, Pujar Sarki. The recently released film 'Mahabhoj' is a film based on the story of cooperative victims.

"I have tried to work with the society recently." This is another one of those attempts . This film is the voice of people who are suffering," he says. Here is an edited part of the conversation with Raut for Ikantipur's regular column Five Questions.

What is the most favorite film you have directed? For

, the makers say that cinema is their child . But I am not completely satisfied with all the films I have produced. When the movie you have worked on is completed, what will you do next? Film being a medium of art does not mean that it is complete . If you are to choose a film from the work you have done, the film Prakash is a film that goes into the depth of the subject, works closely with the society, characters and lifestyle, even according to the subject, according to the situation of the country. He is satisfied with the film 'Prakash'.

Favorite Nepali film?

is also an indivisual thing for watching and making films . Who likes to watch what kind of film, who likes to make what kind of film is determining what is liked and not liked. Even films in different genres than my taste have been commercially successful . There are many good films according to reviews. Recently, there are still more. The film that shows my test and personality, the film that comes a little closer to me is 'Oonko Sweeter' recently. This is exactly the kind of film I don't want.   

Favorite foreign film?

The Iranian film 'Taste of Cherry' is one that I would like to look back on and learn about. This is a very popular movie. This film deeply questions the silence of life and death. I have been able to understand this movie after watching it many times. Understanding life itself  That the society will understand ? Even when I remember it now, I feel different from inside . This movie is one of my favorite movies.

The positive and learning part of Nepali film ?

Nepali film is now in the phase of growth in every way. Technically, the filmmaker's own understanding and the audience's understanding as well . Which films are accepted by the audience and which films are not accepted . It seems that Nepali films are in the phase of growth even in terms of market. So, as a filmmaker, I look at it positively. Earlier, the film industry was not accepted by a single class of people . People of that category were not visible in the hall. People from that category used to go to the theater to watch foreign films. 

seems to be watching Nepali movies now. This is a big thing for us filmmakers. Since that phase is seen now, the condition of Nepali films is beautiful. But there are many things that we as filmmakers should pay attention to and modify ourselves. The audience has accepted it even if it's just a little bit good. It seems that this matter should also be respected. How honest are we being while making the film? I think the filmmaker should take note . It seems that we have to work seriously in many genres . There is a weakness in the screenplay of our film. I also realize myself. I think we should accept this and improve the writing.
