”There was nothing that the Inspector General did not know because Bodhartha came to the notice”

On Wednesday, the police kept Civil Liberation Party leader Resham Chaudhary in jail for about five hours without even examining the letter written by the Supreme Court officer, saying that the verdict of the case pending in the Supreme Court was "like this". Chowdhury has been released after all-round protests, but questions have been raised about the state machinery running in Hachuwa.

Choudhary, who reached Pragya Pratishthan in Kamaladi on Wednesday afternoon, was taken to Dillibazar Jail by court officials and police to participate in the unification program of the Janmat Party led by CK Raut and the Civil Liberation Party chaired by Ranjita Shrestha.

A brief conversation with Vivek Pokhrel of Kantipur with police spokesperson Dinesh Kumar Acharya about the questions raised on the Nepal Police after the arrest of Chaudhary based on the unauthorized letter of the Supreme Court official

Did the letter from the Supreme Court come to the police headquarters or did it go directly to the Kathmandu premises?

Bodhartha came as Inspector General of Police. We were aware of the letter. The police only assisted the court. There was nothing else to do. The court officer executes it. Sometimes the letter also comes to the police. In some places, the courts themselves are involved in enforcement. In this case, the official of the court went into execution. The police helped where they could.

Did the police head office know that Resham Chaudhary was being arrested?

After going through the Inspector General of Police, there was no information. But we were not interested in the work done by the court. The court staff will implement, we will assist.

Police can arrest a political person so easily?

This was executed by the court. The court officer himself came. We are just helpers. We don't see much in it. After they come and execute it themselves, they are responsible. We are not responsible for this matter.

The letter that came, after Chaudhary was arrested, did the police study the language and word selection mentioned in the letter or not?

We have not received a letter to implement, it should be clear. We have only 'supported', not implemented. The final enforcement body is the court.

Does the police have no fault in detaining a citizen for five hours for no reason?

The police do not have a 'role', I have already said. The police only coordinated on the basis of the court's letter. Arresting a fugitive defendant is twofold. One police will find it and take it to the court, the other court will find it and take it to the court itself, the police will assist in that. It was not the fault of the police.
