The Central Committee meeting of the Maoist Center has decided to hold a convention after one year. Before that, it was decided to conduct a country-wide political campaign and then hold a convention to elect a new leadership. In the context that President Pushpa Kamal Dahal has been leading the party for three and a half decades, will the upcoming convention select the leadership of the young generation?

Looking at it like that, there has been a commitment to admit and correct the weakness from the past . Based on the president's political report, the commitment to rebuilding the party has come clearly.

Secondly, this time the discussion was focused on the topic and not carefully. That was also positive. Third, in the upcoming trip, political report and decision made by the meeting is the aspect of implementation . We are still in the exam . From our past experience, the document is good, the discussion is good, but not the implementation, but our problem is that we return to the old problem . Now the challenge is to implement the party's decision in practice.

How did the party go wrong?

Party President Prachanda and the political documents have also said that we have taken the right step. In the report, this meeting is said to be the starting point of taking a left step . In the past we have been right-wing and compromise . Now, holding the left direction and maintaining class relations, it means that there should be some qualitative movement in the process of transformation . Now we have to get down to the test. In the past, we have been a bit more compromising with other parties. It has lost our identity, weakened our freedom . We made a lot of mistakes, so we have to improve . 

We make laws, and break them the next day . And the organization becomes chaotic. The structure of the organization became bigger . Both those who were in it and those who were not were unhappy. It has spoiled the readiness to work . We are no different from other parties. We have become a bit bourgeois. Even if you are a Maoist, you will not achieve your goal by being like other parties . Therefore, ideological, political and standard of living should be advanced without criticizing the people. What is our source of income? What are our assets? Had to make it public . At least one or the other has to be engaged in income generation. 

The subject of investigating and publicizing the assets of the leaders is being raised. Now the party has decided. This is a positive thing . Because there is a problem within us, we had to search and research . When we talk about transformation, the subject of wealth and income comes up . Our way of life has hindered the cooperation with the people .

In 2069, a committee was formed under the leadership of leader Amik Sherchan and a report was made about the opaque lifestyle of the leaders, but it was not made public. Will it be just a discussion now?

is the question of how we should transform. If you work hard, transformation is possible . Voters have raised questions about the lifestyle of the leaders. If there is no transformation, only things start to happen . Then no one will believe . If we want to be transformed, why consider it difficult to publicize the assets of the leader? The

activists have been saying that the leadership should be corrected, isn't it?

happens both ways . There is a dialectical relationship from top to bottom and from bottom to top. It is our society that is looking for a hero . As there is an understanding that everything will be solved when the hero comes, the main thing is the leadership. When there is bad work from the top leadership, it has a completely negative effect on the bottom . As soon as a positive step is taken above, it has a positive effect on the bottom . A small mistake by the workers below has a small impact . You have to go down from the top. Above is broken and the center of criticism is also above .

It has been decided to hold a convention and select a new leadership within a year. Is it possible to elect leadership through direct elections?

In this political course, the problem will not be solved by making a committee by taking a name from Goji and reading it in the name of consensus. This method worked when there was ideal organization and movement. We have ideal weak . Now it is not possible for others to accept if someone brings unanimous names. Therefore, another method is directly elected leadership selection. As independent as the representatives are, they cannot be committee people . Our past practice has shown this . Now it is not happy without selecting the leadership through direct election . It has been suggested that when the chairman of the central committee is also selected through competition, it can be countered that there was a long bureaucratic leadership outside .

Should the Maoists be so enthusiastic about a slight increase in the number of local by-elections?

The government led by the last president Prachanda has had a positive effect on some good governance and other works. We campaigned with the people for four months. It is a situation that is a little more connected to the people than before. The positive work done by Prachanda's government and the process of leaders going to the bottom have improved our public opinion. In the by-election, we went from zero to plus. It's not like we're up and running. If we go with the people, the people's strength will increase even more .

Now is the situation where the conflict between the parties has been resolved ? Many votes have come within the

party. It is true that many friends have written and verbal opinions. Mainly, a party does not come to power, sitting in meetings and voting. I am of the opinion that a thoughtful party organization is needed. Deputy Secretary General Prabhakar (Janardan Sharma) said that the chairman has included most of the contents. It is also said that it has been agreed to solve the issues of party formation and leadership transfer completely. On the other hand, there is also an opinion that the conflict has not been resolved.

Some people also suspect that the convention will not happen after one year.

Three years ago, we suddenly transformed the national conference into a convention. It could not complete the entire workload . It was not possible to hold a special convention. After one year, the general assembly must be held. In terms of the method of the convention, new leadership will come, but the character of the leadership will be decided by the convention.
