Research has shown that due to the weak internal democracy of major political parties in Nepal, they have failed to institutionalize the country's democracy. A conversation with Professor of Political Science Krishna Pokharel about why parties cannot practice democracy in a healthy manner inside and outside the party:
What is the state of internal democracy of the parties?

The selection of leadership in the convention, the selection of candidates in the election should also be done in a transparent and democratic manner.
Another thing is that the parties are not transparent with us. In other countries, the Election Commission looks closely at where the party got its donations from. Here, the party submitted the allocation of expenses to the commission. It doesn't look at how fair it is. There is no need to say where the party and candidate got the election expenses from. Why are
parties trying to be undemocratic?
