Congress leader Shekhar Koirala has started the campaign for the leadership without the conclusion of the 15th Congress. During the 14th Congress, he started a similar campaign two years ago. Not only his own brother Shashank and sister Sujata Koirala, but not getting the support of Ramchandra Paudel (present President), Prakashman Singh and other leaders, Koirala took young people like Gagan Thapa, Minendra Rizal, Chandra Bhandari, Dhanraj Gurung, Gururaj Ghimire, Badri Pandey and Jeevan Pariyar along with him in the competition with Deuba. .

Where did the district campaign go?

I have just started Zilla Daudaha. The program has not been made as a campaign. I have just returned from Far West. Friends called from district to district. While living in Dhangadhi, friends came from Darchula as well.

How many districts have you reached in the meantime?

I reached Biratnagar, Rajviraj, Udaipur, Chitwan within one and a half weeks. Then I went to Far West. I think that we should focus on programs outside of Kathmandu.

You are saying that there should be a convention within 082. What is the preparation?

General elections are held in 084. Local level elections should be held in May of that year. If we do not hold the convention within 082 and move it to 083, factionalism within the party will affect the local level elections, which will weaken the Congress. The preparations that the officials should have done for that have not taken place.

However, preparations for the convention have not been completed, have they? Yes,

, it has not happened, but even if it is done, the convention can be held in 082. You have to try! There was no attempt. I have been keeping things that the convention should be held in 082, even though I have met the chairman, I have kept it. I mean it. He has also said that he will do it on time. However, looking at the schedule, it does not appear that the convention will be held on time.

You yourself have presented yourself as a candidate for the chairman in the 15th Congress. Propaganda is also being done in the same way. What are your agendas this time to become the chairman?

, especially the agenda and issues have not been formally decided, but the Congress has to walk on the edge of the sword at this time. On the one hand, our main competitor is the UML, on the other hand, we have to cooperate with them in the government. Therefore, unity within the Congress is the main issue now. The factionalism, animosity and factions within the party should be broken and progress should be made. I think that an organization that can fight alone in the elections can be made only if we can maintain a broad unity within the party.

How is the relationship between you and Gagan these days?

We are not far away, we have walked together. I find that the workers are worried that Gagan and I will not be united.

There is also a lot of speculation to seek the support of Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba and reach the leadership. Where are you in the meantime?

Chairman is our respectable. There is no question of how close or far. He competed with him in the 14th Congress. Even now, I go to talk about what I have seen and understood.

Is it also true that one can reach the leadership only by taking the support of the chairman? So it is said that you are also trying to get support?

The comment that is being made about whether Sher Bahadurji needs support or not is wrong. I did not expect the kind of excitement I saw when I went to Far West. Therefore, it is not in the hands of the leader, but in the hands of the workers below who will be brought to the leadership. Among the workers below, there is great concern about factionalism at the center. Some say that they could not get along with the UML. However, it was our obligation to form a government together with the UML. It is for the stability of politics.
