Even though the government has asked for the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) to be tested at the examination center, the center heads in Lamjung have not agreed.
They have said that it would be 'difficult' to test the answer sheets at the place where the exam was held and that the answer sheets should be tested at a convenient location.
Bhishma Kant Adhikari, center head of Amar Mavi Center in Khudi, Marsyangdi Rural Municipality 3, said that the problem was due to the lack of concrete written instructions from the Examination Control Office. He said that there would be practical problems in testing the answer sheets at the examination center.
Deepak Khaniya, center head of Janvikas Mavi Center in Besisahar Municipality 7, Besisahar Bazaar, said that the answer sheets would be taken to the police and the Education Development and Coordination Unit would get them from the police. 'The question is whether it would be more transparent to test the answer sheets by setting up a center than we do,' he said. He said that no instructions have been received from the unit so far, but whatever the unit instructs, they will be done as per the instructions.
According to Diwakar Sharma, head of the Education Development and Coordination Unit, the center presidents have not agreed to test the answer sheets at the examination center. After they said that it would be difficult for the center presidents to test the answer sheets at the examination center, the unit head Sharma said that a decision will be made by holding a meeting of the Examination Coordination Committee.
‘The center presidents have said that it is difficult for us to do it. We will test the answer sheets by setting up a center at a convenient place,’ he said. According to him, he said that arrangements will be made to test the answer sheets within 3 days of the examination of a subject.
The Education Development and Coordination Unit has stated that 2,817 examinees participated from 13 examination centers in Lamjung this year. 2,154 in the general and 125 in the technical under regular conditions, as well as 496 in the general and 42 in the technical under grade increase have participated in the SEE.
