A total of 34 students from the Himalayan district of Manang are participating in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) to be held on Thursday, Chaitra 19. Manang district is probably the district with the lowest number of students participating in the exam in the country.
Last year, 41 students participated. This year, 18 boys and 16 girls will take the exam, said Dhruv Prasad Koirala, head of the Education Development and Coordination Unit, Manang. According to him, there are no students in the grade promotion and open sections this year.
The only center for SEE in Manang district is Lokpatri Secondary School in Chame.
Seven students (5 girls and 2 boys) from Annapurna Secondary School in Upper Manang, 14 students (8 and 6 girls) from Lokpatri Secondary School in Chame, and 13 students (8 and 5 girls) from Prakash Jyoti Secondary School in Lower Manang are taking the exam.
There are no candidates for SEE from Bhanu Mavi Tal in Lower Manang this year. However, Resham Nepali, the principal of Bhanu Mavi Tal, has been made the center head for SEE. There are 4 local levels in the entire Manang district, but there is no secondary school in Narpabhumi Rural Municipality.
One center head, one assistant center head, 2 inspectors and one assistant staff will be deployed at the examination center.
