Minister for Education, Science and Technology Sasmit Pokharel has clarified the decision regarding bridge courses and entrance exam preparation classes.

Responding to media persons after the cabinet meeting, he said, "We have said that we will stop bridge courses and tuition centers for class 11 after completing class 10 and giving SEE until April 1st." He said that the government has given priority to students who have given SEE and has also shortened the period for publishing results. "Coaching centers and bridge courses are trying to get admissions for students who have given SEE. We are going to stop that," Minister Pokharel said. He clarified that tuition centers and bridge courses will not be stopped for students of higher education including MBBS, engineering, etc. On Sunday, the Ministry of Education had issued a press release informing that it had decided to close entrance classes and bridge courses from schools to higher education. Immediately after, Education Minister Pokharel issued a notice stating that the decision would be applicable only up to grade 12. The statement related to the decision has been removed from the ministry's website after the content of the statement and the notice differed.
