Former World Bank Higher Education Coordinator Dr. Jamil Salmi will be the chief guest and eminent scientists from Canada and Singapore will participate in the ceremony as special guests.

Madan Bhandari University of Science and Technology (MBUST) is set to organize its first convocation ceremony on Magh 10. The university has informed that world-renowned educationists and scientists will participate in the ceremony, which will be held on its campus in Chitlang.

The chief guest of the ceremony is Dr. Jamil Salmi, a renowned expert in higher education. He has over four decades of experience as the Coordinator of Higher Education at the World Bank, Distinguished Professor of Higher Education Policy at Diego Portales University, Chile, and a Research Fellow at the Center for International Higher Education at Boston College, USA.

The special guests of the ceremony will be Prof. Susan Fortier from Canada and Prof. Seeram Ramakrishna from Singapore. Prof. Fortier, who is the Vice-Chancellor of McGill University and Chair of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, is known for his contributions to research and innovation. Prof. Ramakrishna is a leading scientist in electrospinning and nanotechnology and is currently Chair Professor at Tsinghua University, China, and an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Both of them are on the Embast Board of Trustees.

The convocation ceremony will be presided over by Padma Jyoti, Chair of the University Board of Trustees. The university was established in 2079 BS.

At the ceremony, the university's president, Dr. Rajendradhoj Joshi, will highlight how the university is working to develop industry and the national economy during his welcome speech. Dr. Joshi, who is also a professor and dean at the TU Institute of Engineering, has extensive experience as an academic and senior advisor at the World Bank and UNDP.
