What you should know
The National Examination Board Examination Controller's Office for Class 10 has directed the Education Development and Coordination Units across the country to designate the SEE examination centers by mid-December.
Examination Controller Tukraj Adhikari has written to the unit and directed it to send information to the board by the first week of Magh.
The SEE exam is scheduled to be conducted from the first week of Chaitra. 'In the past years, there have been problems in determining the examination center and errors in matters such as attendance at the examination center, answer sheet management, etc., which have led to problems in publishing the results and the results of some examinees have been postponed, so it is requested to implement the Secondary Education Passing Examination Conduct and Management Guidelines while determining the examination center,' the letter said.
It has been directed to determine the examination center in a manner that at least 150 in remote/Himalayan areas, 250 in hilly areas, and at least 300 and not more than 400 in Terai and Valley. The board has made it clear that there will be no budget provision if the center is determined with a number of students less than the specified number.
Around 500,000 students from all over the country have been participating in SEE. It has been asked not to determine the same center for a school in urban areas, Kathmandu Valley, Terai, and inner Madhesh every year.
It has been instructed to establish a center where only students from one school participate, rather than establishing a center where students from two or more schools participate.
The board has stated that if there is convenience for students, dignity of the exam, assurance of fairness, ease in conducting and managing the exam, the center can be determined on a local municipal basis without reducing the specified number of students. There is a provision for the examination committee chaired by the Chief District Officer in the district to determine the examination center on the recommendation of the unit.
