However, ignoring this, a government teacher from Siraha has been found to have attended the ongoing CPN-UML general convention in Kathmandu. Kishor Sah, a teacher at Tulsiram Satyabhama Dotel Secondary School in Dhangadhimai Municipality-12, Siraha, has left school to attend the UML general convention.
A photo of him soliciting votes for UML central member candidate Lilanath Shrestha during the general convention has been made public by Ram Pramod Yadav, the chairman of Naraha Rural Municipality, on Facebook. The school's principal, Chandra Narayan Chaudhary, said that teacher Sah has not come to school since the 28th.
According to Chaudhary, he had taken leave for three days, on the 28th, 29th and 1st. However, even though he was supposed to come to school from today, he is still absent.
‘We don’t know where someone is going on leave, we only saw the photo after it came out,’ said Principal Chaudhary, ‘They should have come to school from today, but they haven’t come.’
After the video of Teacher Sah going to the UML general convention and engaging in propaganda went viral on social media, the municipality has demanded an answer from the school.
‘I immediately called the school principal after seeing that photo and asked for an answer,’ said Hari Narayan Singh, the education chief of Dhangadhimai Municipality, ‘The school must be explaining.’
Meanwhile, Teacher Sah, although he admitted that he came to Kathmandu, claims that he did not go to the UML general convention. When asked by Kantipur about the photo being made public, he said, ‘The president of Naraha edited the photo and uploaded it, you should not make it an issue.’
Teacher Sah has been dragged into controversy several times before. While he was a teacher in a community school, he illegally worked as the head of the Ram Pratap Ram Prasad Janata Multiple Campus in Golbazar for a long time under the guise of political access.
Sah, who was removed from the post of head just a few months ago after the campus was embroiled in controversy, is still working at the same campus. However, the campus has stated that he did not inform anyone when he attended a political party program.
