A commission is to be formed to restructure the oldest and largest Tribhuvan University.

The TU policy and program for the fiscal year 2082/083 mentions that a high-level commission will be formed to implement the restructuring policy and work will be taken forward.

TU campuses have expanded to 76 districts. Experts have been suggesting that TU should be restructured since 2072, but it has not been implemented. Experts have been suggesting that TU should be restructured at the provincial level in a manner compatible with the country's federalism and that large campuses should be given autonomy.

There are complaints that there is difficulty in management due to the lack of restructuring of TU, ​​and universities are being established haphazardly at the provincial level as well. Vice-Chancellor Deepak Aryal is scheduled to present and pass the policy in the TU assembly to be held on Wednesday.
