The teachers have warned that if all their demands are not addressed in the school education bill, the agitation will intensify. On Thursday, they reached the UML headquarters in Chasal, Lalitpur for a dharna and warned that they would be forced to protest again if their important demands were not addressed in the bill.

The team led by the National Committee of the Nepal Teachers' Federation is staging a sit-in at the headquarters of the main party, pressing for the school education bill to be addressed.

Federation president Laxmikishore Subedi said that as pressure to address the remaining demands of school teachers and employees, they had to stage a sit-in at the party's central office. He also warned that if the law is passed by the Federal Parliament without addressing the demand, the movement will be forced to proceed more strictly.

Chairman Subedi said, 'Some of our demands and issues have been addressed while proceeding from the committee. Now some important demands are missing. There is still room for amendment in the House of Representatives and the National Assembly. Therefore, we are in a movement to create pressure to create a school teacher-employee-friendly progressive law by amending it. On August 9th, we met CPN (UML) Parliamentary Party Chief Whip Mahesh Bertaula and on 11th Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party Chief Whip Shyam Kumar Ghimire. Both leaders have given a positive response that the missing agenda can be addressed through discussion.'

Federation has started a 2-hour dharna program from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm every day at the headquarters of the main party with the aim of addressing the demand in the bill from 11th August (Wednesday). Similarly, a sit-in was held at the Congress headquarters Sanepa on Wednesday and a sit-in was held at the UML headquarters Chasal on Thursday. The Federation has informed that on August 13th (Friday) there is a sit-in program at the headquarters of CPN (Maoist Center) in Parisdanda.
