Negotiations between the government and officials of the protesting teachers' federation are ongoing with the Ministry of Education. Education Minister Raghuji Pant along with Home Minister Ramesh Ukhtar are participating in the talks. According to the Ministry of Education, the ruling party Congress whip Shyam Kumar Ghimire and UML whip Mahesh Bertaula are also participating in the talks. The talks will decide on the demands that can be addressed by the Council of Ministers.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli called a meeting of the Council of Ministers in the evening. Amar Bahadur Thapa, Chairman of Parliament's Education and Health Committee, and Chabilal Vishwakarma, the coordinator of the sub-committee formed to discuss the school education bill, are also participating in the talks.
As the teachers are looking for a reliable basis for the release of the School Education Act, it is said that the leaders of Satarudh Party were present in the talks for commitment. Some demands will be fulfilled by the decision of the Council of Ministers, and the law will be ensured, the teachers said that the nature of the protest that has been going on for 29 days can be changed. The Federation of Teachers says that until the Act is released, they will participate in the class 12 exam and recitation by holding a symbolic movement.
