Birendranagar municipality of Surkhet has requested to run the school. By issuing a notification, all the schools under the municipality have been asked to conduct teaching. According to the municipality, the closure of schools has affected the regular educational programs and adversely affected the fundamental rights and rights of children to study.
"We request the necessary coordination, facilitation and cooperation from all the related parties including the headmasters, teachers, school management committee, teachers' parents association, etc. in order to resume teaching and learning in schools regularly from May 17," said the statement issued by the municipality.
The municipality has said that while continuing the regular teaching in the school, to meet their legitimate and constitutional demands, they should be raised in an alternative way.
Similarly, Chingad Rural Municipality also told the teachers and staff to run the school is Even though the admission campaign of 2082 was over, the admission campaign and teaching did not go smoothly, causing confusion among students and parents, the municipality said.
The municipality has requested the relevant bodies to ensure the rights of children who are enrolled in school and participate in regular learning activities.
