Bimal Chaudhary has been elected as the Central President of Tharu Students Association. Bimal was elected as the president after defeating the presidential candidate Geeta Chaudhary in the election held at Kawasoti in East Nawalparasi on Monday.

Chaudhary, who was elected as the president, received 81 votes. Hemraj Mahato, a member of the election committee, said that Geeta Chaudhary, another candidate for the presidency, got 48 votes.

Out of 153 voters, 141 votes were cast and 12 votes were invalidated. Other than the chairman, there was a unanimous decision. Representatives from all over the country came to Nawalparasi for the convention. The election was held after there was no agreement on the chairman in the session that started on Saturday. Rajkumar Thanet from East Nawalparasi, Dinesh Chaudhary from Bardia as vice president, Lakshmi Mahato from East Nawalparasi and Shakuntala Kumari Chaudhary from Sunsari as women vice president, Sandathap Mahato from East Nawalparasi as treasurer were elected unopposed from the

convention. The convention has elected a 21-member central committee.
