The teachers of Khandachakra municipality of the district have warned of a protest saying that they have not received their salary for 6 months.

On Tuesday, the representatives of the teachers' professional association under the leadership of Khandachakra Nagar Samiti submitted a two-point memorandum to the city chief Kamal Bahadur Shahi with a warning to strike if the salary is not paid within 5 days. Although the government has agreed to pay the salaries of teachers and school staff monthly at the national level, they complain that the city has not complied. 

The memorandum was submitted by a team of teachers led by Pavitra Shahi, president of the Khandachakra Federation of Teachers. 'How did we manage the expenses for 6 months?', she complained, 'When will the trend of people's representatives and employees cutting their salary allowances and only paying teachers end?'

She said that the students were also upset because they did not pay for the school scholarship, mid-day meals, textbooks and other expenses for 6 months. 'Some schools with internal funds have managed it,' she said, 'in schools without internal funds, they are forced to take mid-day meals from the outside.' 

According to the agreement reached by the government in the teachers' association at the center in 2075, 078 and 080, although there is a provision for teachers to get monthly salary allowance, it is irresponsible to ignore it by Khadachrak, said Deep Bahadur Shahi, headmaster of Chulimalika Mavi Ghodena. 'Other employees of the city will receive regular salaries and allowances, only the teachers will receive ? What kind of governance is this,' he expressed anger. 

'If you have money in your pocket, you can buy goods cheaply by bargaining,' Kalpana Sejuwal, a teacher of Kalika Awi, complained, 'Even the shopkeepers cheat when it comes to getting a loan.' In the

memorandum, it is mentioned that the salary and allowances of all the teachers, school staff, child teachers, federal grants and city grants should be released, and the grant money should be released for lunch, textbooks, scholarships etc. . 

Mayor Shahi promised that the education, youth and sports department of the city will release the salary and allowances as soon as all school documents are submitted to the accounts.  Baliraj Shahi of the

branch claimed that the document was prepared and submitted to the accounting branch on February 18. However, Accounts Branch Head Ashok Bhandari claimed that teachers' salaries were stopped due to non-delivery of documents due to city's decision to give salary allowance to all schools through electronic fund transfer (EFT) system. The employees of the health wing here have also complained that they have not received their salary yet. 

There are 39 schools, 64 child development centers in Khandachakra, 300 teachers, facilitators of child development centers and school staff, Pras Baliraj Shahi of the Education Branch informed. According to him, an amount of 50 million will be spent to pay the current salary and allowances.
