The Independent Student Union (SWAVIU) elections have been held unanimously at Janmukhi Adarsh Campus in Gaindakot, East Nawalparasi. An 11-member committee was selected under the leadership of Special Thapa of Nepal Students' Association.

Shilpa Thapa Magar of Nepal Student Union has been elected as the secretary, Sushmita Sapkota of ANERASWAVIU has been elected as the treasurer. Directly elected members include Uday Sharma, Sasikala Acharya and Kiran Gyawali. According to election coordinator Nirajan Chaudhary, Ruby Dhakal of Nepal Vidyarthi Sangh, Abhas Kadel and Pooja Lamichhane of Akhil Krantikari, Om Prakash Kandel and Ravin Khamcha Magar of Aneraswaviyu have been elected unanimously.

Due to the lockdown and hunger strike in the campuses of the district during the Swabiyu elections, the elections on Chait 5th were postponed. The process has now been started after there was an agreement among the student organizations to select the committee unanimously. The Public Campus Association has been requested to ensure elections in other campuses of the district as well.

Satish Neupane, a central member of Nepal Vidyarthi Sangh, has warned that there will be more protests if there is an attempt to curtail the rights of students.
