At the registrar of Kathmandu University (KU), Prof. Dr. Rajiv Shrestha has been appointed. Prime Minister and Chancellor KP Sharma Oli appointed him on the recommendation of Vice Chancellor Achyut Wagle.

Vice-Chancellor Wagle said that Registrar Shrestha also assumed office on Friday. Shrestha is a professor at KU School of Medical Sciences. The office of the registrar is for 4 years  .

Shrestha, who graduated from KU in clinical pharmacy and mastered in neuro-immunology from the University of Strathclyde, UK. Last week, the post was vacant after Prime Minister Oli appointed Registrar Wagle as Vice-Chancellor.

Likewise, the KU Executive Council has appointed Professor Vedamani Dahal as the Dean of the School of Science. Dahal is the former president of the KU Faculty Association. He was also a competitor of the vice-chancellor. The dean of the School of Science was vacant after the tenure of former dean Jarnadan Lamichhane ended on February 5.
