The teachers who announced the protest with the aim of pressurizing the issuance of the School Education Act, have started a sit-in at the central office of the political party.

The President of Nepal Teachers' Federation Lakshmi Kishor Subedi said that the ruling party and the opposition party held a sit-in at the party office.

Last Saturday, the federation demonstrated in Kathmandu. On Wednesday, the federation staged a sit-in at the UML party office in Chasal. On Tuesday, he staged a dharna at the Congress party office, Sanepa. Subedi said that he had held a dharna for two hours at the party offices from 1 pm to 3 pm.

The federation says that the dharna has started at the office of the political party as part of the second phase of the movement. In the first phase, there was a sit-in at the local, district and state levels and a one-day demonstration in Kathmandu.

If the school education bill under consideration in the education, health and information technology committee of the House of Representatives is not advanced, the federation has warned that it will hold an indefinite protest in Kathmandu after the second week of March.
