To improve the quality of public schools in Lumbini, the campaign 'My School, My Responsibility' is starting. Under the leadership of the Ministry of Social Development, the first phase of the campaign is going to start simultaneously in 17 schools of the province at 11 am on Friday.
For the campaign, the Chief Minister, Minister, two former Chief Ministers, State Chief Secretary and People's Representative of the State Assembly are reaching the schools where they started their studies in 17 schools of all 12 districts of Lumbini Province on Friday. According to the Ministry's Deputy Secretary Ramhari Rizal, Chief Minister Chetnarayan Acharya will reach Argharjasthal Mavi in Arghakhanchi at 11 o'clock on Friday. Social Development Minister Ekpriya Rathore Primary School located in Geruwa-2 of Bardia and Physical Infrastructure Development Minister Bhumishwar Dhakal will reach Durgabhawani Primary School located in Kaligandaki-1 of Gulmi.
Economic Affairs and Planning Minister Dhanendra Karki Gulmi Darbar-6 Charpala Ishwari Mavi, State Chief Secretary Baburam Adhikari is scheduled to visit Adarsh Mavi at Ribdikot in Palpa. Former Chief Ministers Sri Mahendra Mavi Tulsipur of Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary Dang, Janjyoti Mavi Ghajulkot of Jokh Bahadur Mahara Rolpa and Speaker of the State Assembly Tularam Ghartimar will be present at Nepal Adarsh Mavi Shivpur of Kapilvastu. Congress chief whip Jamuna Dhakal is preparing to go to Ruppandehi's Gyanodaya Mavi Butwal. Agriculture Minister Dinesh Panthi, Dangma Energy Minister Sita Sharma and Industry Tourism Minister Prachanda Vikram Neupane will reach the school in Gulmi. State Assembly Member Dhan Bahadur Khatri will reach Rukum East, Health Minister Khem Saroo will reach Palpa and Home Affairs Minister Adesh Kumar Agarwal will reach Banke.
Minister of Social Development Janmjay Timilsina said that efforts to improve the quality of public schools are going to be started by including all ministers and ex-specialists in the campaign as former students. "Teachers and parents in schools in rural areas have already taken necessary initiatives for improvement, we are going to provide more support in that," he said. The Ministry of Social Development said that improving the educational quality of public schools will prevent migration from rural areas and reduce the competition of private schools with high fees.
Social Development Ministry Secretary Anprasad Neupane informed that the second phase campaign will be launched after the completion of the first phase. "The main purpose of the campaign is to make people aware of their responsibility and interest in the community school," he said, "I believe that there can be many facilities and improvement works in the school if the former students want it." According to him, the achievement of Friday's attendance will be to see what kind of support can be given to the educational improvement of the school by former students, what can be done to improve the village or their own school, and what commitment can come.
