Ramesh Malla, Head of Education Development and Coordination Unit Jumla, has sent a letter to Education and Human Resource Development Center Sanothimi Bhaktapur for revision of the academic session. He said that the revision of the academic session has been requested based on the conclusions of the discussion with the education stakeholders, secondary school principals and public representatives in the district.
The meeting of the principals of the secondary level schools held on the 20th of December also came to the conclusion that the academic session of the Himalayan districts should be revised. Before this, in the month of Baisakh, there was a discussion with the stakeholders of education about the problems caused by the current academic session. Their opinion was that the academic session should have started from February 1.
There were eight local level heads, heads of education youth and sports branches. Locals have said that the academic session is causing difficulties in teaching and educational activities in the Himalayan region including Jumla. Principal Malla says that a demand letter has been sent with the suggestion that the academic session should start from February 1st in order to ensure smooth learning during the winter months. In the
letter, it has been requested to attach the decisions made for the revision of the academic session in the meeting and discussion and implement the necessary implementation. Due to the geographical structure and weather conditions of Jumla, the current academic session is hindering the learning process of the students. Keeping this in mind, a letter has been sent for the implementation of the decision.
