The sit-in at the University Rector's office has been suspended, three institutions are still locked

The sit-in held by five student organizations for a week in front of the Rector's office of Tribhuvan University has been suspended. The same student organization's lockout in three bodies of the university is still in place.

Maoist-affiliated All-Revolutionary, United Socialist-affiliated Aneraswiyu, National People's Front-affiliated All (6th), Nepal Communist Party-affiliated All-Socialist and Samajwadi Party-affiliated Samajwadi Student Union were protesting at the entrance door of Rector Khadg KC's office with 10-point demands.

Dinesh Ayer, President of All Revolutionary University Unit, informed that the sit-in has been suspended after an agreement with the Directorate of Student Welfare. Due to the sit-in, Rector KC was also hindered from going to his office. "We have postponed the sit-in after the university is ready to meet the demand," Ayer said.

The campus and department heads should be appointed without party affiliation, the report on land acquisition of the university should be made public and implemented, morning and day classes should be conducted in the department, internships should be arranged for the students, and the advertisement of the service commission should be opened immediately.

The university has committed to amend the procedure that hinders the appointment of the best on the basis of merit, to write a letter to the government to publicize the report on land, and to take action against those found guilty of losing the answer sheet.

Trivi had agreed on December 14 with Siddhant Bhatt, unit president of the ruling UMLENIKAT Aneraswaviyu, who was sitting on a dharna at the main door of the Vice-Chancellor's office demanding 35 points. Five student organizations, including Akhil Krantikari, have continued to lock down the central campus, the general administration division of the registrar's office and the office of the independent student union.

They have locked these agencies demanding an investigation into the parking fee levied at NPL. The same group opened the lock in the physics department last week. Swaviyu president Shyamraj Ojhanikat is accused of charging fees on the first day of the competition.
