1 thousand 256 students of Kathmandu University were initiated on Saturday. 3 of PhD level, 51 of PGD, 33 of MPhil, 385 of master's level, 784 of bachelor's level have been initiated.

Among them, there are 111 from the Faculty of Humanities, 253 from Education, 77 from Engineering, 39 from Law, 465 from Management, 181 from Medical Sciences and 130 from Science. Among them are 75 people from 9 countries namely India, China, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, UK, USA, France, Iran and Bhutan.

Kathmandu University has awarded 5 Master in Urban Studies, 1 Master in Media Studies and 21 Master of Fine Arts degrees in the School of Arts for the first time. 19 people in the School of Education's Master in Indigenous Education and Development and 12 in the Master in Training and Development have also received their degrees for the first time.

Similarly, 2 in Master in Health Informatics and 4 in M. Tech in Energy Systems of the School of Engineering have been awarded the title for the first time. 

The School of Medical Sciences' Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging Technology and 10 Bachelor of Science in Laboratory Medicine degrees have also been awarded for the first time. By the thirtieth convocation (first phase) on Saturday, 46 thousand 693 people have been initiated from Kathmandu University. Among them there are 5 thousand 542 people from 57 countries except Nepal.

At the convocation ceremony, Prime Minister and Chancellor of the University KP Sharma Oli said that the government is now focusing on education that provides employment rather than education that seeks employment.

'Nowadays there is a concern whether the youth will find employment or not,' he said, 'We have moved forward for education that provides employment, not education for finding employment, we will cooperate and coordinate with the country's model universities to make them self-reliant by connecting students with education and employment.'&nbsp ;

Prime Minister Oli said that students need theoretical education as well as practical education. "Now is the time to put the knowledge you have acquired in the university into practice," he said.

Professor TN Singh, director of Indian Institute of Technology, Patna, said that education is not only for personal development but also a basis for social reform. He advised the students to build a better future not only for their country but for humanity. 

Bhola Thapa, Vice-Chancellor of Kathmandu University informed that the university has launched various latest programs and said that it is leading the campaign related to environmental and climate change in Nepal. He said that Kathmandu University is leading in cutting-edge research.

With the commitment to promote sustainable development through an address on climate change and educational programs, Kathmandu University has started specialization programs in subjects such as glaciation, natural resources, credit system, building design and mining engineering.
