US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that a possible deal to end the war with Iran could take “days”. Earlier, while talks were underway in Qatar, the US military claimed that it had attacked missile sites and boats that were laying underwater bombs in southern Iran. Speaking to reporters in Jaipur on Tuesday during a visit to India, Rubio said, “There have been some rounds of talks in Qatar today. I think there are a lot of discussions going on on some of the points in the initial draft, so it will take a few days to finalize the deal.”
Earlier, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) had said that the US military had attacked missile sites and boats that were trying to lay underwater bombs in southern Iran on Monday. This further jeopardized the ceasefire that has been in place since early April.
