The UAE government has arrested 10 people, including a Nepali, on charges of spreading misleading war-related videos on social media.

According to the Khaleej Times , the arrested include two Indians and one citizen each from Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Egypt, the Philippines, Vietnam, Iran and Cameroon.

The Khaleej Times reported that they uploaded videos of the attack on the UAE and the interception of the air defense system on social media.

They also posted videos of damaged objects falling to the ground and crowds watching such harrowing moments on social media.

During the investigation, local authorities said that some people used artificial intelligence (AI) to create and spread fake videos that appeared to show explosions, large fires and thick smoke rising from iconic places in the UAE. They claim that these materials spread fear in society.

In the UAE, there is a provision for at least one year in prison and a fine of at least 100,000 dirhams for spreading misleading information that undermines national security or undermines social stability.
