Iran's new Supreme Leader and President Masoud Pahlavi have given different expressions about the war. Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, in his first message sent on Thursday after his appointment, mentions that he will take revenge against the US-Israel . Earlier, President Masoud Pahlavi had said on Thursday morning that talks with the US are possible if Iran's three conditions are met.
Khamenei also said that the US should close its military bases in West Asia sooner than later. 'The countries of West Asia must now realize that America's claim to establish security and peace is nothing but a lie,' the statement said.
Khamenei's message mentions that the blockade on the Strait of Hormuz will continue. He praised the resistance of the Iranian army against the US-Israel. He has not been seen in public since becoming the Supreme Leader. His statement was read out on Iranian state television.
Iranian President Masoud Peshmerga said the war would end if Iran's sovereign rights were recognized internationally, infrastructure destroyed in the Israeli-American attack and civilians killed were compensated, and guarantees were not given that there would be another attack. He made the announcement on social media. He also said he had previously spoken with the leaders of Russia and Pakistan.
The Iran-Iraq war began with the US-Israeli attack on February 28. Senior leaders, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, were killed on the first day of the war. Iran then elected Khomeini's son Mojtaba Khamenei as the new supreme leader.
