Iran, which has launched operations in the Middle East after the US-Israeli attack, has no ill will towards the Gulf states, its foreign minister said on Monday.

“Iran has no hostility towards the Persian Gulf states and is committed to maintaining good neighborly relations with them,” Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in a telephone conversation with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry quoted the Iranian foreign minister as saying, “Iran’s defensive response against US military bases should not be seen as Iran’s attack on the Gulf states.”

The joint US-Israeli airstrikes on Iran killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Defense Minister Amir Nasserzadeh, along with dozens of military officers. In response, the Revolutionary Guards, which has so far targeted 500 sites related to the United States and Israel in the Middle East, reported on Monday the third day of the war.

Iran has clarified its stance on its neighbors, saying its enemies are not Gulf states, but since the US and Israel launched the campaign on Saturday, airports in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Manama have been targeted.
