He said that although he was preparing to execute about 800 people, he stopped it.
US President Donald Trump has claimed that 32,000 protesters have been killed in anti-government protests in Iran.
While talking to reporters at the White House on Friday, he said that he had planned to execute about 800 people, but he stopped it, BBC Hindi reported.
‘He (Iran’s supreme leader) has to make a fair deal,’ Trump said, ‘The people of Iran are very distant from their leader and it’s a very sad situation. 32,000 people have been killed there in a short period of time.’
This is the first time that the US president has spoken about the number of people killed during the protests in Iran.
Trump also claimed that his warning prevented more than 800 people from being executed.
‘He was about to execute 837 people,’ Trump said, ‘I sent him a message that if you execute even one, you will be immediately targeted, and he stopped the execution.’
Trump was asked by reporters about a possible attack on Iran. He responded by saying that he was considering a limited military strike on Iran.
