China to implement visa-free policy for Canadian and British citizens

China has decided to implement a visa-free policy targeting ordinary passport holders of Canada and the United Kingdom. 

A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Sunday, "In order to further facilitate cross-border travel to China, China has decided to extend the visa-free policy to ordinary passport holders of Canada and the United Kingdom from February 17, 2026."

According to the spokesperson, the decision will allow ordinary passport holders of the two European countries to enter China for business, tourism, family and friend visits, exchanges and transit purposes without a visa and to stay in China for up to 30 days. 

"This policy will be in effect until December 31, 2026," the spokesperson said.
