Araghchi's response came just hours after US President Donald Trump repeated his threat of military action against Iran.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that the Iranian military is ready for a counterattack against the United States.
He said that any potential attack would be responded to immediately and powerfully. ‘Our brave soldiers are ready to respond immediately and powerfully to any attack on our beloved land, sky and sea. Their finger is on the trigger,’ he wrote on social media on Wednesday.
Aragchi’s response came hours after US President Donald Trump repeated his threat to take military action against Iran. He also said that Iran had learned a big lesson from Israel’s 12-day war in June last year. During that time, the US also attacked Iranian nuclear facilities in support of Israel.
‘The valuable lessons learned from the 12-day war have enabled us to respond more strongly, swiftly and deeply,’ Aragchi said.
The US has been increasing pressure on Iran over its recent crackdown on anti-government protests. A few days ago, it deployed an armada of destroyers in the Arabian Sea in front of Iran.
‘A large naval group is moving towards Iran,’ Trump wrote in a lengthy post on his Truth social platform, “This group is ready, willing and able to complete their mission immediately.”
The US president added, “I hope Iran will soon make a fair and universally acceptable deal. An agreement that will not have any nuclear weapons. This deal is very important because time is running out. I have told Iran to make a deal before.”
A large number of people have lost their lives during the anti-government protests that have been going on in Iran since December 28. Trump has repeatedly warned the Iranian government not to crack down on the protesters. He has also threatened military intervention.
